Dīng (丁) is Yin Fire — a lantern or candle flame, steady and small rather than blazing. Wèi (未) is the Goat, an Earth branch with hidden stems of 己 Earth, 丁 Fire, and 乙 Wood. 丁未 is therefore a Fire-over-Earth year: the warmth of the flame is absorbed and turned into nourishment. Where the Fire Horse year was loud and fast, the Fire Goat year is warmer, softer, and more patient.
Earth is the receiving element of 2027 — Fire produces Earth, so the year nourishes stability, land, and long-term building. Earth Day Masters feel supported. Metal is fed by the year's Earth (Earth produces Metal), so Metal gains resource. Wood controls Earth and is checked in turn — a year of measured effort. Water controls Fire and is controlled by Earth — a year where Water must work hard for its wins.
Earth Day Masters meet their own element and its resource — a stable, supportive year for building. Metal Day Masters receive resource from the year's Earth — study and support flow well. Fire Day Masters pour into Earth as output — expressive but draining, so pace yourself. Wood Day Masters see Earth as wealth — money through effort and patience. Water Day Masters feel Earth as officer pressure — structure and self-discipline are the theme.
The Goat year belongs to the Goat (值太岁), who should move gently and avoid overcommitting. The Ox sits opposite the Goat (丑未冲) — a year of change and relocation energy. The Horse forms a six-harmony with the Goat (午未合), and the Rabbit and Pig complete the Goat's Wood trine (亥卯未) — these three enjoy the year's support. The Dog and Goat share a quieter friction (丑戌未 is a punishment group), so Dogs should mind stress and misunderstandings.

The year begins at Lì Chūn (立春) around February 3–5, 2027. Spring favors quiet planning and steady starts. The summer months carry the year's Fire, but Yin Fire is a low, sustained warmth rather than a blaze — steady progress beats a sprint. By Qiū Fēn (秋分) in late September, Earth energy peaks and the year's patient work begins to show returns. Dōng Zhì (冬至) around December 21 is the year's reflective close — a good time to consolidate and rest.
